Taboola delivers one million push notification subscribers for The Independent

London, 18th September 2025: Taboola (Nasdaq: TBLA), a global leader in delivering performance at scale  for  advertisers, has achieved one million web push notification subscribers for leading online news publisher, The Independent.

The one million milestone comes just seven weeks after The Independent launched Taboola Push, with the editorial push notification solution now driving a total 2% of The Independent’s audience traffic.

The new integration automatically sends out personalised notifications based on Taboola’s advanced algorithm, which uses over 100 different audience signals to provide the most relevant, interesting and timely content for each subscriber, saving valuable editorial time in the process. In addition, journalists send out alerts for urgent news as it happens via Taboola’s Newsroom platform, keeping readers of The Independent informed of major breaking stories.

The integration of Taboola Push is the latest step in an ongoing partnership with The Independent. Along with push notifications, The Independent utilises a range of Taboola’s products to drive both audience engagement and increase revenue from advertising, including custom mid-article units and AI-powered content recommendations.

The Independent is the UK’s largest quality digital news brand and a top ten news brand in the US. Its award-winning journalism is read by 26.5 million UK browsers monthly, and around 63 million people across the world.
