Charlene Gravesande is the Founder & CEO of Ink Media, a sports media production company specialising in diverse football and Formula One content. Previously at Sky Sports for 16 years, her multi-award-winning career has left an indelible mark on the world of sports production. Recognised by prestigious organisations Charlene’s talent and expertise extend beyond production.
She’s a member of Leaders in Sport and the Black Members’ Sub Committee at Bectu, where she advocates for the advancement and inclusion of Black and Brown professionals in the sports media industry. She has recently joined Football Journeys as a board trustee - a charity bringing young people from different communities together through the power of football and film.
Charlene has been a vocal supporter of initiatives that promote racial and gender equity in sports and is actively involved in creating pathways for under-represented talent through the art of storytelling.
Her career contributions have seen her collaborate as the only Black Producer with the Sky Sports F1 team at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021, which won a BAFTA. She was also named on the Premier League Football Black List as an influential figure in football media in 2020.
In that same year, Charlene produced a highly acclaimed film called George Floyd 100 days: How Sport Fought for Change, which was shown in schools as part of the Show Racism The Red Card campaign.
Charlene’s leadership and dedication to inclusion have had a significant impact on the sports world. In 2024, just months after announcing her new business she won three awards. Including being named on the UK Diversity Power List 50 for 2024/25, as she continues to push for more diverse and equitable systems in the sports industry.
