Comparative Study - VideoSkinz vs pre-roll efficiency evaluation

With the VideoSkinz format, Sublime Skinz offers an innovative way to communicate with a less invasive and more premium ad format, providing advertisers with a unique ad unity aimed at piloting video campaigns.

 

The purpose of this research was to understand the efficiency of this format in comparison to pre-roll ads, which have been the long-time leader in video ad formats.

Objectives

- Define the impact of VideoSkinz ad format versus pre-roll and regular Skinz

- Evaluate VideoSkinz format performance

- Identify the benefits for brands

Methodology

The research was conducted via a self-completed, desktop-only online survey, with 600 participants (US adults 18+, demographically split) exposed to different ad formats on mocked-up webpages.

 

Respondents were asked to rate their perceptions of the ad after engaging with it through VideoSkinz and skippable pre-roll adverts.

 

Strict operating rules were in place to maximise the random nature of the sample selection and to ensure accurate reporting. After being exposed to different ad formats, panelists were interviewed to find out which one they preferred.

 

Respondents answered questions based on their spontaneous recall and attribution of the brand, and on their format preferences.
