Dublin, 5 June, 2019 – Quantcast, the audience intelligence and measurement company, today announced the appointment of Matthias Matthiesen as senior privacy counsel based in Dublin. Mr Matthiesen joins Quantcast’s Legal and Corporate Development Team and is responsible for creating, advising and enforcing global privacy and data protection policy for Quantcast, as well as guiding its clients and partners through compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other emerging data privacy regulations around the world.
A leading global data protection expert, Mr Matthiesen joins Quantcast from his role as director of privacy and public policy at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe. While there, he led the industry body’s strategy and approach to privacy and data protection, including playing a key part in developing its Transparency and Consent Framework in response to GDPR.
In his new role, Mr Matthiesen will liaise with legislators and regulators in global markets and work closely with trade organisations of which Quantcast is a member, including the IAB, the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA).

Mr Matthiesen’s appointment follows recent appointments bolstering Quantcast’s legal and privacy team in February.
