2018: The year the industry must grow up

As the AOP prepares for the next 12 months, we are talking with members and other trade bodies to ensure we take collective action against the most pressing challenges facing our industry.

 

In 2018 we must take back control and focus less on talking about issues and more on taking action – and responsibility – to fix them.

 

Priorities include:

 

  • Implementing the Ad Quality Charter and ensuring that, as premium publishers, we go above and beyond minimum guidelines for industry standards

 

  • Working together with media agencies to encourage the importance of context – not just reach and scale – when planning digital ad campaigns

 

  • Planning for a long-term future for digital publishing – rather than just reacting to the here and now – through collaboration and shared learning experiences

 

  • Continuing to create a level playing field in terms of third-party verification and accreditation
