Matthew Garrahan is global media editor of the Financial Times and recently returned to London after more than a decade as a correspondent in the US, working first in Los Angeles as west coast correspondent, and then New York.
In his career at the FT he has been a corporate reporter and covered sports business and leisure industries. He has interviewed everyone from Angelina Jolie to Hugo Chavez and has been media editor since 2014, covering disruption in publishing and advertising, the sale of Sky and the break up of Rupert Murdoch’s empire. He was named business journalist of the year at the 2018 British Press Awards.
