Q2 Digital Market Overview

The latest UKOM Digital Market Overview has revealed that between January and June the Travel category has been the hardest hit in terms of audience usage.  Travel related sectors accounting for 8 of the top 10, the ongoing shifting sands nature for countries being added to or removed from quarantine areas throughout July and August may actually have increased usage as people attempt to keep up to date with latest guidelines, but the uncertainty if likely to mean advertising stays low for now.

 

However other areas traditionally strong for publishers have fared considerably better through lockdown and easing of restrictions, for example, Politics added over 4m unique users, whilst Local News grew 2.1m over the period and Business/Finance and Business to Business added 2m respectively.
