AOP announces the Digital Publishing Awards 2019 Shortlist


London, UK, 2nd May 2019: The Association for Online Publishing (AOP) has today announced the shortlist for the 2019 Digital Publishing Awards, which celebrate businesses and individuals across the industry.


Organised in association with PubMatic – the publisher-focused sell-side platform (SSP) for an open digital media future – the event champions talent and excellence across 24 categories. This year’s awards will also recognise the importance of regional digital journalism and employer excellence, following the introduction of The Local Hero Award for Regional Digital Journalism, supported by Google News Initiative, and the Digital Publishing Award for Employer Excellence.


Judged by a panel of industry experts and senior publishing executives, the winners will be announced during a prestigious ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London on Thursday 27th June 2019.


“In today’s evolving landscape, it’s important we recognise the talent, creativity, and innovation that continues to prevail across our industry and take the time to thank every team member that contributes to the wider success of their organisation”, commented Richard Reeves, Managing Director at AOP. “Our newly created Local Hero award honours the work of local journalists, and recognises the value of the campaigns and investigative content they provide to the communities they serve. Also new for 2019, the Employer Excellence award celebrates those who promote talent, diversity, and employee wellbeing, and recognise those who consistently deliver in the face of continual change.
